General English courses at Gold Coast Learning Centre provide pathways to both the Academic English courses and the Exam Preparation courses. This provides learners with the flexibility to focus on the English language skills that best suit their needs.
General English courses at GCLC focus strongly on improving the four core English language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing
The courses are conducted in 10-week modules, with progress tests every 5 weeks. Class sizes vary, with an average of 16 students per class to ensure a personalised and helpful teaching environment.
Students can begin this course on any Monday.
An English level test and orientation will be conducted prior to course commencement.

The General English curriculum at GCLC | English & Business College is designed to meet the social and English language needs of our learners. Since the needs of different overseas students vary considerably, the curriculum has a modular layout to cater, as far as possible, to your specific needs.
There are 3 components to our General English courses: Speaking Focus, which featuring activities geared towards improving the accuracy of your spoken English, Core Class, which covers grammar instruction, reading practice, vocabulary expansion, listening and speaking skills practice and Customised Options.
You have an option of studying 5 or 4 hours a day. If you are an international student on a working holiday or tourist visa, you may opt for the Part-time course.
