What’s the minimum enrolment period?
1 week for English courses, 6 months for all VET courses.

Do I have to take a placement test before enrolment?
No, students complete a placement test on their first scheduled class day.
Do I need IELTS to enrol?
Can I study any course at GCLC with a student visa?
Yes, student visa holders can study all courses that we offer at Gold Coast Learning Centre.
Can I work on a student visa?
Immigration laws permit visitors on student visas to work a maximum of 20 hours per week, giving you enough time to balance your study.
What are the visa requirements?

A Student visa is required if you wish to spend more than 12 weeks studying full-time in Australia.
A Student visa is offered once a student has accepted an offer of a full-time course of study with a CRICOS-registered institution. Gold Coast Learning Centre’s CRICOS provider number is 03268C.
Student visa holders may work a maximum of 20 hours per week while they are studying.
Under Australian Immigration law, Student visa holders wishing to apply for a Working visa must do so after study has commenced in Australia.
A Tourist visa allows visitors to Australia to spend up to 12 months in the country and is appropriate for students wishing to study for a maximum of 3 months (12 weeks).
You cannot extend a Tourist visa in Australia.
Working Holiday Visa
The Working Holiday visa allows a stay of up to 12 months, during which time overseas visitors to Australia are permitted to do casual work while they are travelling.
Working Holiday visa holders cannot work more than 3 months with any one employer.
Study is permitted for a maximum of 3 months (12 weeks) on a Working Holiday visa and applicants must be aged between 18 and 30.

Can I get a refund if I finish my course early?
Gold Coast Learning Centre (GCLC) has a fair and equitable refund policy and procedure that is compliant with ASQA and ESOS requirements.

Students have access to all online and teacher course book materials.
Do I have access to Wi-Fi?
Students have access to unlimited Wi-Fi on campus.
Are your teachers qualified?
We pride ourselves on having the best teachers for our students. All teachers have relevant qualifications and industry experience to the courses they teach.
What do I need to bring to my class?
Basic school equipment, pen, notebooks and own devices for VET courses.
Do you organise accommodation?
We are able to help assist you in getting settled in Homestay accommodation to start and share accommodation after you’ve settled in.
Are there airport pickup services?
Yes, we are more than willing to assist you, at a small additional cost.
Is public transport nearby?
Gold Coast Learning Centre in located in the heart of Surfers Paradise within a short distance of tram, bus and train lines.
What do I need to do to apply for gym memberships, open bank accounts, sporting clubs etc?
Gold Coast Learning Centre provide a student services that can provide you with all the information and assistance you need to get you started and transition into your new lifestyle on the Gold Coast.
Is my attendance marked?
Yes, Our Vocational (VET) courses require attendance and competency to meet government requirements so you can be qualified at the end of your course.
English Classes are required to meet a 20 hour per week minimum study schedule.
Do I have to attend my first day of class?
Yes, it’s a great way to meet your new classmates, local surrounds and get acquainted with all that you need to start your studies.
